- Hearn had heart for Sand Mountain (The Sand Mountain Reporter)
Thomas K. Hearn Jr., who spent much of his childhood in Albertville and later became president of Wake Forest University, has died. Hearn, 71, served as president of the Winston-Salem, N.C., university for 22 years. He retired in 2005 and held the title of president emeritus until his death.
